+ WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER LEARNING OPTIONS?

Before creating this site, I spent several weeks doing research on competition. To summarize: no one offers offers live online lessons. There are hundreds of excellent blogs, youtube channels, and pre-recorded video classes out there - but nothing for people who learn by doing, through live hands-on feedback. I’m one of those people, so I created the curriculum I wish I had at the beginning of my career.

IMAGINE: you’re building an IKEA bookshelf.

They insist on using a hammer, and only a hammer, for everything - screws, cutting wood, even painting the walls. Would you keep the contractor?

Silly as it sounds, that’s exactly how companies treat their data analysis. According to Forrester research,

81% OF COMPANIES use Excel as their primary analysis tool.

Staying with the construction metaphor - if you want to put an IKEA bookshelf together, you don’t need years of experience. Instead, you just need a basic grasp of a few tools and a couple hours. That’s what I teach.

Learn the basics. Know the toolbox. Become the expert.

That’s the foundation behind my instruction and consulting.

ABOUT ME

I’m Josh: husband, educator, dance aficionado, and data geek. In a nutshell, the kind of nerd who finds it exciting to spend the day playing with new datasets, then go DJ a dance hall at night. Yet nothing is more fun for me than teaching and sharing knowledge. Eventually, when coworkers across several jobs kept coming to me for private training on data analysis, I realized that I had something to share.

Combining my experience in teaching partner dance and a passion for working with data, I created a curriculum - condensing a decade of experience into a three-lesson “must know” package. Data analysis is a surprisingly easy skill to learn, and I’m on a crusade to share that knowledge with everyone.

If you know the tricks, anyone can draw insights from complex data. You just need someone to show you where to click and how to think.

My favorite moment is always the “a-ha!” - when students realize how one five-minute tip saves them hours in their work week.

Name a piece of data software, and I’m all about it: Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, Salesforce, Tableau, PowerBI, etc. And with over a decade of experience in consulting, sales, and data analytics, I can zero in on the knowledge you need and make your process work for you.

I’d love to chat, hear what you’re looking for - and if I can’t help, recommend you to one of my favorite free online resources. Please feel free to call or text my business number at (two-oh-two) 505-4314‬. Or, hit the button below, fill out the form, and I’ll get right back to you.
